The kick-off meeting of the Worldwide Insecticide resistance Network (WIN) was held in Montpellier, FRANCE, from 23 to 25 may 2016 . The objective of the meeting was to start developing an international consortium for the surveillance of insecticide resistance of the vectors of arboviruses and to define the conditions for better deployment of alternative tools for vector control. The meeting was able to share knowledge on vector control research and discuss further activities to undertake in the framework of the network.

Outcomes of the meeting was:

1. To institutionalize partnership and define the framework for the implementation of an international consortium for the surveillance and management of insecticide resistance in mosquito vectors of arboviruses
2. To define the topics and terms of reference to review existing data and fill knowledge gaps on topics related to insecticide resistance
3. To plan the organization of an international, multidisciplinary workshop to identify priorities for dengue vectorcontrol and for implementation of a global plan for insecticide resistance management.

The meeting was composed of 2 distinct sessions:

• Scientific seminar on arboviruses and vector control with broad audience during the first day (open session)
• Technical meeting with WIN members to discuss all scientific and technical tasks related to the network during the 2 other days (close session).
