External Advisory Board

The External Advisory Board (EAB) is composed of 2 WHO representatives (NTD and TDR) and is in charge of the follow up and evaluation of the project.

Dr Florence Fouque is a medical entomologist who has led more than 30 research projects in Africa and South America to improve the control of vector borne diseases. In 2014 she joined TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases to lead the unit “Vectors, environment and society”. TDR builds research capacity and supports research on infectious diseases in low- and middle-income countries. The programme, which is hosted at the World Health Organization (WHO) and co-sponsored by UNICEF, UNDP, the World Bank and WHO, connects with national governments and local health institutions, and fosters joint research efforts between private industries, disease control programmes, academia, research institutions and non-governmental organizations. Her group is looking at the broader issues that affect the transmission of pathogens through vectors like mosquitoes, bugs and others.
